Shutterstock, a provider of stock photography, has announced the debut of its AI image generating platform. All Shutterstock clients will be able to utilise it globally in whatever language the website supports.
“Shutterstock has developed strategic partnerships over the past two years with key industry players like OpenAI, Meta, and LG AI Research to fuel their generative AI research efforts, and we are now able to uniquely bring responsibly-produced generative AI capabilities to our own customers,” Paul Hennessy, CEO at Shutterstock, said in a statement.
According to the firm, anyone will be able to generate high-quality images by simply defining what they want to see – worry-free, unique, and ready in a matter of seconds.
“Our easy-to-use generative platform will transform the way people tell their stories — you no longer have to be a design expert or have access to a creative team to create exceptional work,” Hennessy added.
With the creation of a fund to pay artists for their contributions and a renewed focus on AI-generated content research and development, Shutterstock and OpenAI expanded their collaboration in October of last year.
The collaboration’s goal was to give Shutterstock audiences around the world access to OpenAI’s seamless image generating capabilities, enabling users to instantaneously produce images based on their specified criteria.
