Shayla Raquel’s Savage Indulgence will shock, disgust, and leave you with a bad taste in your mouth. But I think the author meant it that way. At least, I hope so. Reading about someone eating human flesh made my stomach turn and was scary and revolting. When I sat down to read this article, I truly wish I hadn’t eaten that waffle.
Four people were invited to Joyce’s house for a dinner party. Joyce is a retired OB-GYN. The guests were mistaken in thinking they were eating standard steak. With the intention of eating their flesh later, Joyce drugged them. TWISTED!
Her devious, grisly scheme did not go as planned.
Suspense.
Thriller.
Gore.
Savage Indulgence will continually astound you. You’ll be concerned if the individual who knocks on the door will end up becoming Joyce’s next dinner.
When Shayla Raquel instructed Joyce to gather various liquids and spices to make a marinade, I puked once again. My perspective on my pantry will never be the same again.
What an intense read, boy oh boy. I don’t believe I could read this narrative more than once. It would produce a blockbuster horror film that horror lovers would find incredibly spooky.
About The Book
Joyce has a taste for the forbidden.
After years of reveling in the finer things life has to offer, she invites four dinner guests to partake in an exquisite feast.
As her guests morph into victims, Joyce prepares for the next phase of her dinner. But her long-awaited plans crumble before her very eyes when she realizes her victims may be defective.
Despite the setbacks, Joyce will stop at nothing to satiate her hunger.
Savage Indulgence is a skin-crawling short story with an acquired taste.
The Review
Savage Indulgence
Shayla Raquel is a master storyteller. I'm not normally a fan of the horror genre, but Savage Indulgence drew me in right from the opening line! It impelled me onward and didn't release me 'til I reached "The End." The story was exquisitely researched – but it didn't read as though the author was dropping in information simply to prove how much research she'd done. Details were seamlessly woven through the narrative and within the dialogue. Despite the subject matter, this was a beautifully crafted piece of (I hope) fiction.
