A wonderful debut novel about finding the strength to be oneself. Quest of Awakening is not only a great debut novel, but a wonderful introduction into a world full of magic and danger. Xavier is set to be King of Ivearth, but struggles to come to terms with his identity. The author does a great job exploring internal conflict that can arise when coming to terms with one's sexuality and reflected my own struggles I had when I was a younger teenager.
