Over 150 digital stories by Kayla Parent have been read hundreds of millions of times on a dozen distinct platforms. She writes, and adores, both romance and horror, depending on her mood at the time. She wants you to either fall in love with or be so terrified of her characters that you think one of them is hidden under your bed.
Currently, she resides in Massachusetts with her adorable son Garrett, adorably charming husband Jimmy, and cheeky beagle Gus. She typically reads instead of writing. She loves mythology, folklore, historical romance, and true-crime stories. She also admits to being a huge fan of popcorn, champagne, and chronic daydreaming.
Elle adores the concept of falling in love. She is so oblivious to the indicators when a man is around that she frequently leaps before she looks. She frequently lands on her face. The last thing either of them anticipates when the campus hottie decides he can help Elle curb her love lust is falling in love.
Lovesick was really excellent. In addition to featuring a lot of one of my all-time favourite musicals, it also has a lovely plot and mouthwatering characters. Elle was just lovely. I adore how she displayed her emotions on her frilly, pink sleeve. When Elle commits to something, whether it’s a role in a show, her dad, or a boy, she truly commits. Elle is the perpetual optimist.
The most ideal leading man was Steve. He was endearing, engaging, intelligent, sweet, and flawed all at once. I loved him right away, and he was the ideal person to help Elle alter her life. This was such a great read—beyond sweet, endearingly cute, and full of so many funny moments. With the exception of Tom and the Devons, I really liked the characters.
I adored how Elle developed into such a bold, daring, and strong girl throughout this tale. It was fantastic to watch her grow into herself and take centre stage. I enjoyed the comedy, drama, and character growth that each character went through even if the steamy sequences were well done. Here is the ideal romance to make you swoon, if you’re seeking for one.
About The Book
Elle Cooks is obsessed with the idea of falling in love with her Mr. Right. The problem is, everyone on campus knows it. Maybe it was the time she bought anniversary balloons for a guy she wasn’t even dating. Or maybe it’s her tendency to ask about marriage on the first date.
Whatever the reason, most steer clear of this stage-five clinger. But Elle knows that her happily-ever-after is right around the corner. And luckily, she’s about to be granted a helping hand from the most popular guy on campus.
Steve Towers is different from Elle in every way. He’s not only sworn off relationships for life, but the well-known ladies man has no trouble when it comes to the opposite sex. After witnessing Elle’s latest rejection, he offers to teach her the ins and outs of dating, and how to finally play “the game” and win.
But as the two turn Elle into an irresistible, eligible bachelorette, she may not be the only one with hearts in her eyes…
The Review
Lovesick
This was such a fantastic book. Not only did it heavily feature one of my favorite musicals ever, but it has such a sweet storyline with delicious character. Elle was seriously beyond adorable. I love that she wore her heart on her pink, frilly sleeve. Elle is the eternal optimist, and when she commits to something, she commits fully whether it is a role in a show, her dad, or a boy. Steve was the most perfect leading man. He was both funny, charming, smart, sweet, and imperfect. I liked him from the start, and he was the perfect guy to change Elle’s life.
